What NOT to Say

Frequently Asked Questions

When should I send my farewell email?

Send it on your second-to-last day, or the morning of your last day. This gives people time to reply and say goodbye before your email access is cut off.

Who should I BCC or CC?

BCC your personal email address so you have a copy of the contacts and the nice replies you receive before you lose access to your work inbox.

Should I include where I am going next?

It’s generally best to leave out the name of your new company in a mass email. If close colleagues want to know, they will ask you directly or check your LinkedIn later.
